28. The Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed

The album title says so.

There's the album cover art standing at right while a vinyl record with a blank label rolls down from the bottom in the same speed at the blood is dripping from top left.

You can keep the music playing while the blood starts to spill on the record and comes into contact with the tip of the needle.

The Guardian reported on 22 November 2011 that the artwork for one of the most famous album covers – the Rolling Stones' Let It Bleed –
is expected to fetch up to £40,000 at auction.

The album cover displays a surreal sculpture designed by Robert Brownjohn. The image consists of the Let It Bleed record being played by the tone-arm of an antique phonograph,
and a record-changer spindle supporting several items stacked on a plate in place of a stack of records: a tape canister labelled Stones – Let It Bleed, a clock dial,
a pizza, a tyre and a cake with elaborate icing topped by figurines representing the band. The cake parts of the construction were prepared by
then-unknown cookery writer Delia Smith. The artwork was inspired by the working title of the album, which was Automatic Changer.

The album cover for Let It Bleed was among the ten chosen by the Royal Mail for a set of "Classic Album Cover" postage stamps issued in January 2010.

10. The Rolling Stones - Exile on Main Street

This image is a combination of four images: the original album cover design at top left and its reproduction at bottom right, and the negative of the original image at top right and its reproduction
at bottom left. The original dimensions of the images were adjusted in order to fit an 18 x 10 resolution screen. The whole new image was then posterized in order to make it appear
more like an illustration than a set of photographs.

I really aimed to capture what I feel is the Stones' true persona, which to me is both rebellious and chaotic. I believe this is what the original album cover design meant to portray.
I wanted to multiply it four times.

This is the original album cover art design.

Actually, what I used as the original album cover design is the two-sided (front and back) cover of the two-record set. I halved it and placed the front cover
at left and the back cover at right. The result is shown above. You will notice that the album title, which seems to have been written in red lipstick,
is located near the middle of the image instead of extreme right.
